Frannie Shepherd-Bates

There are many ways to do the work of social justice.

For my entire career, I’ve done it the best way I know how:
as a prison theatre practitioner, artist, and nonprofit professional with a passion for fund development.

Because social justice takes more than just a little change.

I am a dedicated nonprofit professional with a strong commitment to social justice and extensive experience in community-centered work with justice-impacted individuals. My background includes nonprofit development, administration, and programming, particularly within carceral settings. I am skilled in creating compassionate, strengths-based support systems, advocating for individuals facing systemic barriers and injustice, and developing resources that empower historically marginalized communities.
